For this collage our theme was ‘Urban Renewal’ and for my approach I aimed at what is currently wrong with urban life at the moment.
My focus was on the idea of how mediated and controlled the urban space is by advertising. To display this I darkened the colours of the landscape and kept the brands bold to stand out.
Also to add an extra depth to the image I made it appear like a post card, this included a poem on the back to anchor the misconceptions about urban life.
I think it worked out well as all the ideas I wanted to come across in the collage worked out and it displays all the themes I wanted also the actual composition of the artwork fits the cityscape that I wanted to achieve.
